We are looking for a high-caliber professional in the warehouse and inventory management area, who can take control of the Alexandria operation without the need for constant supervision.
This is not just a warehouse job and it is not a basic administrative role.
We need someone who can bring a real level of control, accuracy, discipline and accountability to the warehouse and inventory function, while working closely with production, accounting, sales and centralized logistics support.
This role is essential for the stability and future development of our Alexandria operation. The right person will contribute to creating a warehouse environment that production can rely on, accounting can confidently verify, sales can use effectively and management can safely develop.
Job description
The Role
You will have day-to-day responsibility for warehouse control, stock accuracy, inbound and outbound discipline, physical stock visibility, warehouse organization and support for local logistics documents.
You will also work closely with the UK based person we are recruiting for the role of International Logistics Controller – Hazmat, Gas ISO & Cylinder Movements, ensuring good coordination between the physical reality of the Alexandria warehouse and the extended international logistics function.
This is a role for someone who understands that a warehouse must constantly reflect reality: what is in stock, where it is, what has moved, what is missing, what is due to arrive and what is ready for delivery.
Responsibilities
- Taking full, day-to-day control of warehouse operations in Alexandria;
- Proper management of stock inputs and outputs for cylinders, pallets, finished products, empty cylinders, incoming materials and other relevant items;
- Real-time recording of all entry and exit movements;
- Physical verification of goods upon entry and exit, without relying solely on documents;
- Permanent assurance that the documents in the warehouse correspond to the physical reality;
- Maintaining accurate stock records and quickly resolving any discrepancies;
- Creating and updating clear warehouse maps showing the physical location of inventory;
- Ensuring fast, accurate and secure identification of stocks in the warehouse;
- Barcode system administration, including issuing new SKU codes for new stock items;
- Management of receipts, shipping advices, CMR documents and other local documents regarding the movement of goods;
- Preparing documents for deliveries and pickups;
- Local confirmation of appointments with carriers, according to instructions received from the central logistics function;
- Close collaboration with the International Logistics Controller in the UK to support inbound and outbound cargo movements;
- Collaborating with the sales department so that stock availability and delivery preparation are clearly understood;
- Collaborating with the accounting department to ensure that inventory records and stock movements are accurate and reliable;
- Supporting production through clear visibility of inventory and warehouse discipline;
- Handling and storage of industrial gases and cylinders in accordance with safety standards;
- Support in audits and inspections, when necessary;
- Proactively addressing operational issues and proposing practical solutions;
- Contributing to maintaining a well-organized, controlled and responsible warehouse;
- Maintaining high standards of order and cleanliness and treating the warehouses as if they were your own;
- Availability for occasional work schedule flexibility when needed based on deliveries or pickups.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience of at least 3–5 years in warehouse coordination, stock control, inventory management or delivery/shipment control;
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, chemical, cylinder, packaging or similar operational environment is a significant advantage;
- Strong discipline in inventory management and attention to detail;
- Confidence in physically verifying receipts and shipments, without making assumptions;
- Good documentation and recordkeeping standards;
- Experience in practical and disciplined organization of warehouse and storage locations;
- Confidence in working with barcode systems, SKU control and stock identification processes;
- Ability to collaborate effectively with production, accounting, sales and logistics;
- Good computer/spreadsheet skills;
- Romanian language required; English is an advantage;
- References must be available and will be checked if the individual is offered the position, and the offer of employment will be conditional on satisfactory confirmation of the references.
