We are recruiting two people for the role of Contract Manager (Junior and Senior) in our team in Bucharest. The main activities include the full management of contracts and associated risks, from analysis and monitoring to negotiation and dispute resolution.
Requirements
- Higher education completed with a bachelor’s degree in a legal or technical field
- Good PC skills: Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
- Minimum 3 years of experience for a junior role and minimum 5 years of experience for a senior role in similar positions managing construction contracts governed by HG1/2018 and/or FIDIC
- Knowledge of construction legislation is an advantage
- Ability to interpret contractual clauses, terms and risks
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to organize and think strategically
- Teamwork: good skills in building trusting relationships with clients and colleagues
- Positive, creative thinking and attitude
Job Description
Junior Contract Manager Responsibilities:
- Administration and monitoring of main contracts and subcontracts,
- Contract analysis, identification of contractual risks, interpretation of clauses
- Ensuring compliance with all contract terms, obligations and requirements.
- Drafting and managing contractual correspondence to the Beneficiary, Supervisor/Engineer, subcontractors and other partners.
- Actively participating in progress meetings, internal Contractor meetings, meetings with the Supervisor and the Beneficiary, meetings with Subcontractors, representing the Contractor’s contractual position, drafting minutes and meeting notes with contractual impact.
- Clear and professional communication with contracting parties (Beneficiary, Supervisor/Engineer, subcontractors).
Senior Contract Manager Responsibilities:
- Analyzes from a legal-contractual perspective the disputes that arise with the Beneficiary or Subcontractors and formulates the defense and/or negotiation strategy in the interest of the Contractor.
- Identify, evaluate and manage all change proposals and contractual claims.
- Preparing claim notifications / Claim Details / Amendment Proposals and other contractual documents, supporting the necessary arguments and documents.
- Prompt resolution of disputes or differences.
- Following the notification, response and appeal deadlines provided by GD 1/2018 and/or FIDIC in order not to lose rights by exceeding them.
- Analyzes from a legal-contractual perspective the disputes that arise with the Beneficiary or Subcontractors and formulates the defense and/or negotiation strategy in the interest of the Contractor.
- Prepares written positions, memoranda and support documents for: dispute analysis committees, amicable settlements, litigation before arbitration or courts, in collaboration with the legal department or law firms.
- Recommends dispute risk management solutions.
