General Description
Within the framework of the modernization projects of the railway infrastructure, tram lines, as well as road and utility works in Romania, Swietelsky Romania is looking for 

Foremen / Team Leaders with experience in coordinating construction site works.The role involves organizing, coordinating and supervising teams of qualified workers, monitoring the execution of the works and ensuring compliance with technical, quality standards, as well as occupational health and safety regulations, specific to infrastructure projects.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in road, utility, urban or railway infrastructure works.
• Ability to coordinate teams of skilled workers on site.
• Technical secondary education, vocational school or construction qualification – an advantage.
• Solid technical knowledge and ability to interpret plans and execution details.
• Practical skills and good understanding of construction execution processes.
• Attention to detail, discipline and quality orientation.
• Availability for permanent activity on the construction site (physical work and coordination in construction site conditions).
• Availability to travel depending on the location of the projects.
• Good communication and collaboration skills with mixed teams (engineers, workers, subcontractors).
• Good knowledge of Romanian; German or English – an advantage.
• Category B driving license – advantage.
• Foreman certification / OHS courses / experience in large infrastructure projects – advantage.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Direct coordination of the team of skilled workers and distribution of daily tasks.
• Training staff on correct execution methods and compliance with OHS regulations.
• Monitoring the quality of the work performed and remediating any non-conformities.
• Verification of layouts, dimensions and compliance of works with the technical project.
• Organization and monitoring of earthworks: excavations, trenches, foundations, platforms.
• Supervision of the execution of road infrastructure and superstructure layers (ballast, crushed stone, asphalt mixtures).
• Coordination of utility works: installation of pipes, construction of manholes, water networks – storm drains.
• Supervision of specific tram and railway works: platform preparation, sleeper assembly, material handling.
• Organizing and securing the work area according to occupational health and safety regulations.
• Planning the necessary resources (people, equipment, materials) for the efficient performance of the work.
• Collaborating with engineers, designers and subcontractors for proper coordination of activities.
• Reporting the progress of the works and any problems to the site management;
• Organizing and monitoring site activities to ensure compliance with the execution schedule.
• Tracking material consumption and efficient use of site resources, reporting supply needs to project management.
• Verifying the correct use of machinery and collaborating with operators to ensure the efficient and safe performance of work.
• Participation in field inspections and reception of the executed works, together with the engineers and the beneficiary.
• Identifying problems that arise during execution and proposing quick solutions to avoid delays and non-conformities.
