Job Description
The duties of a nursing assistant in Germany differ slightly depending on the workplace (nursing home, hospital or clinic), but the main role is to ensure the care and well-being of patients.
Responsibilities include:
- Care and counseling for elderly or sick people
- Administering medication and performing prescribed treatments
- Changing dressings, setting up infusions and monitoring vital signs
- Supporting patients in daily activities (hygiene, nutrition, mobility)
- Documentation of care measures in the IT system
- Collaboration with doctors and the medical team for the individual treatment plan
- Ensuring empathetic and professional care, including in palliative cases
