Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will manage all warehouse activities, including:
- Supervising receiving, storage, inventory control, and shipping operations.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Managing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for accurate inventory tracking.
- Overseeing warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyor systems, and automated machinery.
- Coordinating inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely deliveries.
- Optimizing transportation routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Working closely with logistics partners, transport providers, and suppliers.
- Ensuring compliance with transportation and warehouse regulations.
- Developing inventory management procedures and maintaining stock accuracy.
- Conducting regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Implementing measures to minimize inventory discrepancies and product losses.
- Recruiting, training, and mentoring warehouse employees.
- Conducting performance evaluations and supporting employee development.
- Promoting workplace safety and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline warehouse operations and reduce costs.
- Investigating and resolving workplace safety incidents promptly.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A university degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Economics, Transport, Distribution, IT, or another related discipline.
- At least five years of experience in warehouse management, logistics, retail, storage, or administrative operations.
- Previous experience in an IT distribution warehouse will be considered an advantage.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Commercial awareness and numerical competency.
- Proficiency in warehouse software and electronic data management systems.
